

Hans-Agne Jakobsson
Hans-Agne Jakobsson (1919–2009) was born at the Swedish island Gotland in 1919, Hans-Agne Jakobsson was a Swedish interior and furniture designer. For the most part, this is his lighting fixture that has become a modern interior design material today. Hans-Agne Jakobsson studied architecture in Gothenburg. He worked at General Motors as a business designer. He also became a fan of Carl Malmsten and worked for Ateljé Lyktan in Åhus.
In 1951 he founded his own company Hans-Agne Jakobsson AB in Markaryd. Some of the company’s brands include chip lamps, bronze fixtures with glass cups, and lamps with fabric eyelashes. He designed most of the lamps himself. Arne Nilsson and Torsten Orrling have also designed models for the company. Auction house Thelin & Johansson has approved the ceiling lamp “Estrella” for 27,024 SEK. Their clients were not only private, but also public environments such as conference rooms and churches.
